Call for Papers

1. Background and Theme

In the wave of rapid development of artificial intelligence technology and the transformation of societal intelligence transformation, agent-based simulation, as a key tool to explore complex social phenomena and dynamics, represents a new paradigm of scientific research. The 2nd Asian Social Simulation Association (ASSA) Annual Conference and the International Symposium on Social Simulation (ISSS) 2024 will be held on August 24 at the PKU-Wuhan Institute for Artificial Intelligence. The symposium will focus on the frontier advancement in the field of agent-based simulation, particularly large-scale social simulator: “AI Society”, and aims to explore innovative applications of agent technology, the precise construction of simulation models, the potential and limitations of simulator devices in addressing challenges across various social scenarios, and the new modes of governance in an intelligent society where humans, robots, and objects coexist. Through in-depth communication at the symposium, we hope to inspire new research ideas, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, drive the continuous progress of agent-based simulation and large-scale social simulator technology, and provide robust support for solving complex real-world problems.

ISSS is currently the only international academic conference on social simulation initiated and hosted by Chinese institutions. It aims to provide a platform for global scholars engaged in social simulation and related research to interact and exchange ideas, thereby promoting the application of simulation research paradigms in the social sciences. The theme of ISSS 2024 is “Agent-Based Simulation and Advancements in Large-Scale Social Simulators”, now calling for papers on “Multi-Scale Agent Model Construction and Application”, “Equivalent Communities and Social Simulators” and so on. We look forward to the gathering of scholars in Wuhan Optics Valley to share and discuss the latest research results and jointly promote the innovative development of social simulation.

3. Important Dates

18 August 2024: Deadline for full paper, extended abstract (2-3 pages) or PPT submission

Authors are invited to submit the full paper, extended abstract or PPT to ISSS 2024 via the Email: ISSS@socialsimulation.net.
Please use “ASSA2024_ paper title” as the email subject of your submission.

一、会议背景与会议主题

在人工智能技术飞速发展与社会智能化转型的浪潮中，智能体仿真模拟作为探索复杂社会现象和动态的关键工具，代表了一种新的科学研究范式。亚洲社会仿真学会（Asian Social Simulation Association，ASSA）第二届学术年会暨2024年社会仿真模拟国际研讨会(International Symposium on Social Simulation，ISSS)即将于8月24日在北京大学武汉人工智能研究院举办。本届会议将聚焦于智能体仿真模拟研究领域的前沿进展——大型社会模拟器，旨在共同探讨智能体技术的创新应用、仿真模型的精准构建、模拟器装置在应对社会不同场景挑战中的潜力与局限，以及人、机、物共存的智能社会治理的新模式。通过会议的深入交流，我们期待激发学者们新的研究灵感，促进不同领域的跨学科合作，推动智能体仿真模拟与大型社会模拟器技术的持续进步，为解决现实世界中的复杂问题提供有力支持。
社会仿真模拟国际研讨会(ISSS)是目前唯一由中国机构发起主办的社会仿真模拟主题的国际学术会议，旨在为从事社会仿真模拟以及相关研究的国内外学者提供一个互动交流的平台，共同推动仿真研究范式在社会科学中的应用。本届会议主题为“智能体仿真模拟与大型社会模拟器进展”，现就“多尺度智能体模型构建与应用”、“等价共同体与社会模拟器”等议题开展会议征文。期待各位学者一起相聚武汉光谷，分享和探讨最新研究成果，共同推动社会仿真模拟领域研究的创新发展。
